Over the past few months, we have been working intensively behind the scenes on the biggest update to KLEKSI since the introduction of our platform. Not only have we developed dozens of new functionalities, but existing components have also been completely redesigned and optimized. The result is a revamped dashboard that is faster, clearer, and more future-proof.
With this release, we are once again taking an important step in our mission to provide heritage organizations with a modern, secure, and flexible platform for digital collection management. During development, the focus was not only on a more modern look, but above all on improving the daily user experience. Many operations are faster and more intuitive, while the technical foundation is ready for future expansions.
Key innovations
Working with tabs
Thanks to tabs at the top of the dashboard, you can now keep multiple parts of KLEKSI open simultaneously. This makes switching between objects, collections, settings, and other components even more efficient.
Completely redesigned DAM / File Manager
The Digital Asset Manager (DAM) has also been completely redesigned.
The new file manager offers, among other things:
- drag-and-drop support for an unlimited number of files at once;
- support for files up to 50 TB;
- secure chunked uploads, ensuring large files are uploaded reliably;
- automatic checksum verification before and after every upload.
This checksum check verifies whether a file has remained exactly the same during transfer. This prevents silent errors and contributes to the reliability and digital sustainability of collections.
Work the way you want
Every user works differently. That is why you can now easily switch between Dark Mode and Light Mode, so that the dashboard matches your personal preference or work environment.
More than just a dashboard
Over the past period, work has also been done on various new functionalities that will become available soon or can be deployed optionally.
Hierarchical view module
A hierarchical view will become available for archives and organizations with complex collections. This allows records to be managed clearly as a tree structure.
Multi-tenant environment
For partnerships and umbrella organizations, we are developing a Multi-Tenant environment within our existing Multi-Tenant architecture. This allows multiple KLEKSI environments to be managed centrally, while each participant continues to work completely independently.
New visual import tool
Another important development is the completely new visual import tool. This allows data from virtually any collection registration system to be migrated to KLEKSI visually. At a later stage, this importer will also be made suitable for adding cleaned, enriched, or supplementary datasets to existing KLEKSI environments.
Building the future together
Although the foundation of the revamped dashboard is now ready, we view this primarily as the start of a new development phase. In the coming period, we will continue to further refine the platform based on practical experience. Therefore, we will also be introducing the KLEKSI Forum soon. This forum will become the central meeting place for all KLEKSI users. Here, users can:
sharing knowledge and experiences with each other;
- asking questions;
- make suggestions;
- follow the progress of new developments;
- report bugs and areas for improvement.
Additionally, a secure environment will be available for members of the Product Council Team where new ideas and functionalities can be discussed and evaluated jointly.
