Limburg heritage ready for the future with KLEKSI

After months of preparation, informative meetings for participants, and intensive discussions with the Limburg Heritage Cooperative, we are proud to announce a remarkable result: Limburg heritage will soon be even more discoverable and connected, with KLEKSI as the new collection registration system!

Limburg is brimming with heritage: from the bronze sword of Wessem to the cigar boxes of Tegelen, from the bear of Steyl to the many windmills and castles. Together, these collections form a rich source of stories worth carefully preserving and making widely accessible.

To make the collections of often volunteer heritage organizations, local history societies, and local museums available online, the Limburg Heritage Cooperative has been offering a platform for comprehensive collection management for years. Currently, 38 organizations participate in this network. To further enhance the sustainability, usability, and visibility of these collections, the Cooperative has taken a significant step: the transition to KLEKSI.

With KLEKSI, the Cooperative has opted for a future-proof, fully NDE-compatible solution. This means that collections are not only better managed and made accessible, but also seamlessly align with national standards and are easily interchangeable with other platforms. Heritage thus becomes more sustainably accessible, more visible, and easier to find – both for researchers and heritage professionals, and for the general public curious about the riches of Limburg.

The choice for KLEKSI fully aligns with the mission of the Limburg Heritage Cooperative: bringing together, visualizing, and sharing heritage. We are grateful and proud to be able to contribute to this. Heritage lives. And thanks to collaboration, it lives on.

We are very enthusiastic about connecting Limburg's heritage even more strongly and making it shine in the digital world.
