Today, April 7, 2022, the new KLEKSI collection registration system will be delivered for the Prehistoric Museum in Boxtel.
The Oertijdmuseum was founded by René Fraaijen who studied geology at the University of Utrecht. In 1983, the Ammonietenhoeve foundation and the museum of the same name were established in the large barn near the parental home, a former stable. The museum joins the Museum Association in 1988. The current Prehistoric Museum in Boxtel was opened on April 3, 1999 by the then State Secretary Dr. Rick van der Ploeg. In 2007 the large dinosaur hall is built and later the prehistoric garden is expanded with the prehistoric forest. The museum receives more and more visitors every year. In 2019, this number exceeds 85,000.
After a visit, by an employee of the Oertijdmuseum, to the KLEKSI stand during the Museum Vakdagen fair in Rijswijk, an appointment was immediately made. Following the ensuing conversation, an offer was made and the Prehistoric Museum decided to archive, document and digitize their collection of no fewer than 13,000 objects (archaeological finds) using KLEKSI. The system will be delivered today and the employees who will be working with the system will receive an explanation of all functionalities. The Oertijdmuseum had already largely archived their collection in a system developed in-house. The data was transferred to the new environment by KLEKSI free of charge.
KLEKSI is a Limburg product, the completion was of course celebrated with Limburg flan.
